Pizza Mann Partners with SpeedLine to Deliver Call Center Service to Austrian Restaurant Chain

LYNDEN, WA – April 9, 2003 – Austria's largest pizza delivery chain, Pizza Mann, has partnered with SpeedLine to provide one-number ordering for popular casual restaurant chain Wienerwald. "When Wienerwald saw our service and the SpeedLine Call Center software, it was a very easy decision," commented Pizza Mann CEO Alex Platzl.
Pizza Mann installed its first call center in 1996. In 2000, Pizza Mann upgraded to SpeedLine Call Center, and has now rolled out the call center to 20 Pizza Mann locations. This week, they have added service to 13 Wienerwald delivery/takeout locations.
Platzl says that Wienerwald shares his enthusiasm about the competitive advantage that the call center gives them. In addition to the improvements in efficiency and customer service, Pizza Mann has seen an average increase of US $1.40 per order in ticket sales in stores that they have integrated with their call center. "Our call center agents are dedicated to customer service, and have much better selling skills than the people in the individual stores," Platzl explains.
"The call center is my most important tool right now," Platzl continued. "SpeedLine gives us a lot of information that we didn't have before. The old call center didn't give us the capability to communicate with the stores. We sent the order, and that was it. There was no way to know if the driver was on his way, if coupons had been added to an order at the store…so the customer service staff had to call the stores to ask. We have eliminated 4000 to 5000 callbacks per month with SpeedLine."
SpeedLine Vice-President of Development Terry Haan added, "Three years ago, Pizza Mann was one of the first pizza chains to implement SpeedLine Call Center. Today we are excited to be working with Pizza Mann to develop their call center as a profit center in a new way, extending their services to another established European restaurant chain."
